Here you can see the contrast in military kilts between those worn by the Black Watch and those worn by the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.


Note that the blue is equally dark in both; only the green is a lighter shade in the Argyll's kilts.
For so-called Campbell tartan both the blue and the green are lighter.

What is a "semi-trad" kilt? I've only owned and worn traditional handsewn kiltweight tartan wool 7 to 9 yard kilts.
