I welcomed that bit of grimness on Sunday. I was cooked to a near crisp on Saturday, and sought shade where ever it was available on Sunday (mostly under the athletes tents with friends that were competing). The threatening storm-clouds helped cool things off too. Overall it was a good festival. I'll be digging through pictures later this week as time permits, and try to post a couple.

it was a terrific weekend in Flagstaff. If you live anywhere near and didn't make it. You missed a fantastic time. As usual, the Wicked Tinkers were awesome, the games were spectacular, and the unusual warm weather meant the beer flowed like , well, beer at a Celtic festival. Of course, the whiskey tasting was a hit. The Clans were well represented. We had lots of people introduced to their ancestry and become Scotophiles. Is that a word?
If you don't know, the festival supports the US School of Piping and they made a ton of money to provide scholarships for budding pipers.
Disclaimer. My brother and his wife have organized this festival for 14 years. I may be a bit prejudiced, but I think they do a fantastic job of it.

Here is a picture at the games. There was a reenactment group presenting and firing rifles in the background. This was the only one I had on my phone at work today. More when I download the rest from the camera at home.

I thought that was a neat addition that I haven't seen before at other festivals...or either I just missed it.
