Well, until you said that you liked it, I was going to say that your opinion does matter. However, that's the most hideous thing I've seen in a long time, so your opinion does, in fact, not matter! ![Twisted Evil](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)
Just kidding- we're all entitled to our own bad taste. I have gotten my fair share of crap from the traditionalists. You'll note from my avatar that I'm a bit of an Iron Maiden fan. I have a habbit of wearing Maiden shirts with my kilts, which has gotten me a fair share of... shall we say... good natured ribbing.

Imagine it with a red wine stain down the front. "Oooooohhh Noooooo"!
Shouldn't you only have white wine and white drinks at that wedding.
Go Gin and tonic, vodka and tonics in. Rum and coke, and whisky out...
...on second thoughts no!!!!

I'm sure that a Glasgow Rangers footbal player a few years back wore a outfit similar to this at his wedding in Glasgow. It may have been the Dutch player Peter Lovenkrands who now plays for Newcastle United

I saw a large poster-sized photograph of an outfit much like that in a kilt hire shop in Glasgow in 2004.
It had a white Prince Charlie, white waistcoat, white bow tie, white kilt, white fur sporran, white hose, white flashes, and... wait for it... black ghillies.
What a pity to get so close to glorious hideous perfection, only to come up short! One would have thought that they could have found a pair of white ghillies somewhere.
This one is strange, what with the black flashes. Whatever were they thinking?

What if we made these amendments...
1. Black braiding and piping on the jacket (still a white jacket)
2. Black tassels on the sporran
3. Black fringe on the kilt's apron.
Would anyone like it then or would it still be 'hideously white'?

It would still be hideous... Replace the white kilt with something- anything- else, and it would be a lot better. Really, it's the stark white kilt that gets me. It needs something to break it up!

I think apart from the fact that white stays white for about 30 seconds in my experience, that about the only person i can see pulling it off is a celebrity...

Nice... Now I wonder if it comes with an "off" switch?

The black flashes and (probably) black shoes really ruin it for me - if you're going to do it, do it 100%, don't wimp out at the end.
It's certainly not for me, for various reasons; though the jacket itself really wouldn't be that bad if combined with a tartan kilt and more colourful accessories. As has been said, I think the issue of keeping it clean would be enough to dissuade potential buyers and really goes against the practical and frugal attitudes for which Scots are known.
I especially dislike the elastic-band flashes when they lead to the "Hermes" look that this chap has going on.

Yikes. I think a white doublet or jacket can look awesome.... but not the entire outfit.
