As regards PayPal - an excellent company but my credit card gives me 90 days for things like non-delivery. Check (cheque?) it out!

Just had a shufftie around the Geoffrey site that is linked above and note they have stepped up from their ebay only presence. Business must be good. I know several pipers who use them for doublets and hair sporrans. Their pipes might be dodgy but these items are apparently OK (so I'm told) and considerably cheaper than the home grown equivilent. (£80 odd against £500 odd)

I noticed they also produce American Civil War repro items.

Anyone thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? By jingo, that with a Kilt would make a pretty loud statement down the Pub wouldn't it?

    No, I wouldn't either... probably.

John has sold the Sherrifmuir in the past. In fact, he was offering it with a tartan vest to match your kilt. I wonder if they didn't sell very fast. You might contact him (john@jhiggins.net) and maybe they'll make one for you.

Yes, and there are some other similarities to the thief's - I mean Great Highlandwear's - site.

What I would take from this is that they did not have permission to use that photo and, as such, I would be wary of any business dealings with them. That being said, there may well be cultural differences that allow them to feel free to use any photos they may find without the stigma that we would attach to it. It may be that they are a very honest company who cannot understand why people of this culture would attach any meaning at all to them using a photo they found on the internet. I really don't know.
Could it be that they supplied the kit originally to who ever the band bought their kit from?

I guess that is possible but I think the issue is the use of a photo without the consent of the persons in said photo. And, it appears as though the site is littered with photos they do not have permission to use.

That's one of the things that makes me nervous about posting pictures. I remember back when the former administrator, Mike1, said our pictures could start ending up on these type of sites, and there was nothing we could do about it.

I have no good way of knowing if my image is being spewed across the web, and possibly in altered form...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
