As a nose-thumb to the "Kilt Kops" and related threads I find it interesting and refreshing that not one person commented on the fact that your kilt stops a couple inches above your kneecap, a heavily and recently discussed topic and a well known no-no around here, but quite becoming on you. There might be other reasons no one else noticed that or failed to mention it though.

Been there done that----after ordering and recieving my first kilt in, what else, Forrester Modern nearly 4 years ago in preparation for my first trip to Scotland, I fell in love with wearing the darn thing so much that I ordered in rapid succession three more in the next three months---Black Isle, Ancient MacDonald, and Isle of Skye, and recieved them all in time to take them with me to wear in Scotland 9 out of the 10 days we were there. In the 3 yrs 4 months since that trip I have ordered and recieved another 14 kilts and have tartan waiting for three more, when I can finance the kiltmaking thereof. When you go, go big. Dive in head first. The water is fine.

She's pulling off a kilt in boots. After that, what can be said? I didn't think it could be done. I once put on my motorcycle boots with a kilt and couldn't get them off fast enough. I nearly went blind. Can only imagine the havoc on society if I had actually left the house like that.

It's like hats. Some things work on some people, and other people with nearly the same features can't do it.

I love my wool as well, the heavier the better in my book. 12 of my kilts are 15-16 oz wool, including 3 custom weaves, all 8 yd except one 6yd casual. 5 of my kilts are 12-13 oz, all 8yd, 1 custom weave. I also have one 8yd "heavyweight" PV off the peg that I hardly ever wear, and sometimes wonder why I even keep it around, but think that maybe I will start hiking or kayaking in it one of these days. I have two more sections of tartan, one 16oz and one 18oz waiting to go under Bonnie's needle in the hopefully not too distant future. Although I have my reservations about putting an 18 oz Black watch kilt in the same closet as my MacDonald of Glencoe Muted, I remain eager to feel the heft of a tank in regimental weight and see the swish the extra body brings to the kilt.
