I had a similar issue with a jacket I bought off ebay, the jacket felt too big even though it was the size I normally wear. I decided to sell it, its in the classifieds now, and bought another jacket instead which fits perfectly.
Could you buy another jacket and sell the one you have?

I have thought of that too, selling the jacket to someone who wears a 44 Regular or 46 Regular and using the money to by an Argyle that fits.
