I was in a pub in Ottawa 2 years ago and all the staff wore kilts, but they did so because they were told to and they begrudged it. Most did not seem to take care of the kilt, and many did not fit correctly. Among the lot - male and female - there was one server who seemed to like to wear his kilt and he looked good in it. Unfortunately, this is what made all the others look like they'd have been better in jeans.
I've been to that one - a major disappointment in minimal quality kilts. Had I worn my own, I would have looked oddly out of place because of its quality.
