Also, with regards to American tourists in other countries, it is my experience that the best Americans rarely if ever leave their hometown much less their country. Other countries often see only those we'd prefer not to claim lol.

That's obviously a generalization, but its more accurate than I'm comfortable with, especially as someone who always tries to be respectful of local culture whether I'm in the next county over or on the other side of the world. Its that insensitive and idiotic behavior that gets me every time.
And as far as driving is concerned, its fall which means the Snowbirds have arrived in Florida. Some people will know what I mean. Suffice it to say I'll be taking my life in me hands when I drive for the next few months lol.

Re: What gets your knickers in a bunch?
The older I get, the less patience I have for all crap. Top of my list is general stupidity. After that, in no particular order:
a. My wife's cat who likes to wake me up at 4 A.M.
b. People with no sense of their surroundings (block a shopping aisle with their cart, stand in doorways, walk into you while they are looking another way, etc.)
c. Movie talkers/loud people in public.
d. Bad drivers.
e. Tim Burton movies.
f. My redneck neighbors. Oh the stories I could tell.
g. Loud car stereos.
h. Bad tippers. I'm the cheapest person I know, but I tip very well. Even lackluster service will get 10 to 15%. You are NOT entitled to have your boots licked by wait staff simply because you have arrived.
i. Rudeness. There is simply no excuse.. ever.
j. People who do not control their children in public. I raised two kids. It isn't that difficult.
k. People on the internet who apparently get immense feelings of superiority by correcting other people's misspellings or grammar.
I could go on and on. In a few years, I'll be on the rocker on the front porch screaming at kids on my lawn.... instead of standing on it and yelling at them like I do now...

Re: What gets your knickers in a bunch?
My son and I go to a local hobby store to play Warhammer 40K (table top minis for those not in the know). A few stores down is something called the Nightmare Factory. It's a month long haunted house and a cesspool of drugs and under age drinking. The haunted house has four rest rooms but they do not allow customers to use them so they come to the other stores. On the door of our hobby shop in big bold black letters is a sign that says NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS, these little drains on society walk right in the door with the sign on it and ask if there is a restroom.
No to mention the comments about "gamers" and the looks and random comments about my kilt....IF YOU CAN'T READ A SIGN DON'T JUDGE ME or my honor roll student, I'm sorry that the IQ of just one of the nerdy gamers is higher than your entire groups combined.
Don't get me started on the entitlement generation we have in the US right now.

Mmmmm...
Queue etiquette is generally not bad in Britain. There are moments but they are not common.
The thing that grips me mostly is inattentive driving. People who do 25 in a 40 or drive in the motorway middle lane at 60 "because it's safer".
Other than that, I'm pretty placid.
I've noticed people look at me irritably when I sing along to my mp3 player so it's all swings and roundabouts.
Humm-m-m-hmmmm. Hum-hum-hum-hmmmm. (it's all very tuneful... to me).
Edit: Oh yeah, there are some British Politicians who make me froth at the mouth every time they appear on the tele but we'd best not go there.

I spent 18 years in South Florida, I know what you mean. The are also the ones my wife and I called cue-tips. All you can see is their shock of white hair above the steering wheel.
I have an extreme problem with both rude people and those who delight in telling jokes that make fun of someones mental/physical handicap. Bigotry is also very high on my list of those things that can twist my knickers.

A bit of both really I guess, but mainly the secret hoarders. Knowledge is a treasure that is meant to be kept in the light and shared.
If someone wnats to learn something I can teach, I'll teach what I can, guess that's why I'm a cub leader and bushcraft instructor.

Because you asked:
I am most often disappointed with people who are normal. Every time I encounter someone who is afflicted with this ailment I concentrate on how much worse it could be if I attempted to explain the obvious to them.
