And of course I'm using a full Windsor knot on my tie. Minor detail to some, but I really think this thin silk tie needed it, lest the knot be too small and out of proportion.

On the spat issue, I've decided that I like them so much, I'm going to experiment some more with various colours and styles. I bought a vintage (1950s) pattern for spats, and will be trying out some different types. It'll be a winter project, along with some other bright ideas I'm having these days.
That's the amazing thing about mixing tweeds, tattersal, and tartan: it works so well because at a distance the smaller patterns disappear but up close, they add interest. And I'm also a fan of the full Windsor knot
