Interesting reading indeed... I didn't really know the states were so sticky over a seal pelt.

I've hunted seals nearly every year since I was a kid. Many families in my part of Newfoundland get one every year or two for meat (not to mention a seal fishery). As a by product, I've had the pelt made into sealskin mitts and they're awesome!

That Sporran you have above there lad is looking great too! Be sure to post a couple pictures of the final product =) Hard to tell from the pictures, but is it harp seal?
