Since living in France if I'm spending the holiday period in France like I am this year (I won't be able to get back home until March) then I have to suffer their version. Over here they celebrate on Chrstmas eve (in fact, they celebrate every event the day before (strange customs)) with lots of very rich foods like lobster and foie gras which are reasonably good to eat but difficult the next day (because your system is not used to such rich fare). That's probably the reason why Christmas day is just another day for them. I hate Christmas in France and usually try to avoid being here during this period. Very little "Christmas Spirit", no carols on the TV or radio, nothing really "Special". I hope someone takes pity on all of us that won't be having the traditional "Christmas dinner" this year and continues this thread after Christmas with some photos to show us what we missed!
