Shoes for office wear
What would you think of monk-strap shoes for those informal occasions not casual enough for boots? I think the buckles give something of a traditional look matching the buckles on the kilt, and gillie shoes have always reminded me of wingtips without tongues but with excessively long and fussy laces.

Being an old country boy I have no idea what a monk strap shoe is. I think of monks I think of sandals

Monk straps
They're the kind with a strap over the instep fastened with a buckle on the side.

Before I invested in ghillie brogues, I wore regular wing tips, Timberland hiking boots, and a pair of ankle high hikers. Now, I have also invested in a pair of Hi Tec Magnums. I had forgotten how comfortable the are and how good they look. I like the buckle shoes and have been considering them for about 6 monthes. As it is, my shoe collection is strting to rival my wife's. Once again, we venture into another area of wearing kilts, accesories!
Cheers,
Allen

Funny you should mention Magnums, Allen. I've just bought my self a replacement pair. I wore them this weekend and they look pretty good with my kilt.

For shoes I wear a plain leather dress shoe, black walking shoes or my old military issue boots. Works fine for me.

I wear my Ghillie Brogues to the office (and find myself messing with the laces a half dozen times)

Very cool boots Kavius.
Here are the shoes I'm planning on wearing with my kilt.

They probably wouldn't be appreciated at the office though.[/url]
