    Family tartan design?

i was curious what everyone thought of this design i came up with. i have been tryn to develop a tartan using my family's coat of arms colors of blue-gold-white-black but also alot of green to reflect our irish ancestry as well. let me know what you think. thanks

Gorgeous tartan! Our kiltmakers will surely comment on its "pleatability."

    Re: Family tartan design?

I like it a lot! I think it would look particularly striking in a large sett, say about 10" between the yellow lines. Let us know when you get it woven ... and post pics.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Very nice, looks like one made back in the old days. Seems all the new ones are easy to spot as new ones.
    Somebody ought to.

I much prefer the second version. You could also alternate the W/Y stripe on the pleats.

    Re: Family tartan design?

I prefer the first simply because it is brighter, more colorful, and the colors are more easily distinguishable. But, it may in part be due to the different size of the images. Either would make a very nice-looking kilt.
