    Re: New Kitty!

Congratulations on your first cat. Cats are great. I don't know what I'd do without mine.

Yay, Buster! You're gonna' like it there.
Just remember to stay off the tables and protect
your new people from all those little things on the floor.
(You have to pounce on them to get their attention.)

    Sincerely,
Thistle, the Cameron Cat (also a rescue)

Not my first cat but definitely my wife's first.

Took him to the vet to get that cold checked out and my suspiscions were right. Feline upper resperatory illness. He's on anti-biotics now and some ear drops for a case of ear mites. Other than that he's doing great!

Buster is a handsome animal. May he bring you both many years of joy.

Glad to read you had the vet check him out. If "kitty cold" is what used to be called "distemper", it is dangerous, but treatable with antibiotics. Once he has had it, he is more receptive to recurrence, so just keep an eye on him.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Poor little guy is sneezing more on his third day into the antibiotics. Sounds like he's trying to clear the broken up sinus gunk. He is eating and drinking plenty so I guess he's ok. Just sounds like the antibiotics are working and he's getting out the goo.

We had a vet once tell us that as long as a cat continues to eat and drink, that's a good sign. It is time to worry if they stop.

And Buster is a darn good name for a cat. I knew a kitty name Guido once.....

Cats are strange. They seem to care less about their names than dogs do, yet lo be the mortal who names his cat Loki or Satan.......
