It may indeed. Equally, the fine white centred on the other red may be the other pivot. The other pivot could be centered on the white stripe in the red section on the right. If both were correct then the half sett would be: R/ G Y W K W Y G W R W/
5. Not sure, but that yellow stitching in the lower left looks vaguely like letters. It's messy, but possibly initials and some bit of embroidery?
No. When blown up it's obviously just some random stitching that indicates that the piece was either repaired (unlikely) or sewn onto something.
