Use your money and the yard of tartan fabric to make a bias-cut tartan waistcoat instead!

Now that sir is a good Idea - I was reading this wondering what on earth will I do with my
Fly plaid now - learning that there may never be an event that I would wear it to.
Now I can start the process of making a waist coat of it .
    Thank you

A bloody great nuisance! I think they are a bit too much and really do nothing other than get in the way. I have found that they are usefull for removing those unwanted buttons on epaulettes when one inadvertently sits on the fly plaid and rips the brooch off.

The more I know about kiltwearing the more I think a flyplaid is superfluous AND the more I want a day plaid...

If you navigate to Google Images and enter "fly plaid", you will see LOTS of them.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

    Thumbs down what a pain

A fly plaid looks to be a serious pain to wear.

    No thank you.
