My wife has a fly plaid in her great grandmother's tartan and while not traditional, wore it as a fly plaid on an evening dress to our recent Burns Supper. She received rave reviews and compliments from many people, many of them old Scots from our St. Andrews Society.

Her dress is actually red, much like the first pic. My phone cam makes the dress look pink and the tartan almost orange for some reason.
