It is sometimes (or, at least, one time) referred to as a "kilometer inch".

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

No, the measurement I gave of 9" is not the diameter of a circle. Rather it is roughly half the circumference of the circle (laid flat). So the total circumference of the circle would be approximately 18", stretched to the maximum capacity.

"I see", the blind man said. But, are those SAE inches or metric inches?
Feel free to take that as a rhetorical question.

I'm scanning my Bible now for that passage - must be in the book of Jacob - "Jacob was a plain man, dwelling intense", ... or something like that.

Matt, I have a question about the Rannoch kilt hose that are on the scottishkilthose.com website. They look similar to the Lewis hose and very different from the Rannoch country socks which are on the Amazon site, are the Rannoch kilt hose and the Rannoch country socks actually completely different? Especially the Bracken colour which looks very different
The Rannoch kilt hose look to come in some great colours, colours which are very much missing from the Lewis range.

The Rannoch hose photos on the Amazon web site are out of date (and will hopefully soon be updated). The Rannoch hose photos on my web site reflect the currently available range of colors.

I agree, they are some lovely and not-often-seen colors which is why I offer them alongside the somewhat similar Lewis range.

Thanks Matt, I think I may be ordering some soon as the photos on your site really do look fantastic and they will make a nice change from the few pairs of Lewis hose I already have.
