I wear Wellys with my kilt sometimes. It really depends on the weather, obviously. If I'm attending a gathering or Highland games for instance, and the ground is muddy and soaked, or if it is raining, then I'll opt for my Wellys with country socks and garters. The country socks are much longer than my kilt hose and work well with the Wellys.
