I too ordered one of their exhire tweed jackets in "Highland Blue" (like I need another tweed jacket!!). It is typical nice St Kilda quality, and arrived in the U.S. in a time frame that would make Stillwater green with envy, 5 days from ordering to the California...from Scotland !!! Very impressive!!
For those interested, they are also offering NEW, made to order, 8 yard wool kilts (assumed to be machine stitched) in a variety of tartans for very reasonable prices. Check their ebay site for details.
Cheers,
Brooke

First impressions are that it's a first class garment made by St Kilda. It is in such good condition that it couldn't have been worn more than once. Even the back of the waistcoat has no creases. The stitching is all good and there is not a mark on it. Sizing is good. I ordered a size up from normal and I would say their sizing is pretty accurate. When you get up to mid 50's measurements 2 inches is nothing so it is if anything a tad on the generous size for me, but us GOS like to spread out a bit so it's really fine.
The fabric too is excellent 15oz lochinver tweed and it feels as though it will really be hard wearing. Good enough for everyday wear and feels as though the quality of the fabric will stand up to much abuse.
So this was my first purchase from the Scottish Tartan Store and on this review it certainly won't be my last.
Well done, Simon! Glad to hear you are most satisfied with your purchase.
Cheers,

On tartanweb.com they have new Tanks from £275 and machine stiched from £255. That seems very affordable compared to many other sites.
Forgot to look.
On ebay they have Kilts for £140 in some 13oz tartan.

Stan, I'm also a fan of the Ancient MacGregor, as its the tartan my Band wears after of founder James V. Greig, formerly of the Black Watch, Edinburgh Police, Clan MacFarlane, and City of Thorold Pipe Band. He was a great man.

Ditto Brooke , I too ordered one of their exhire tweed jackets and it arrived in 5 days from Scotland to Indiana , but you have me beat with Scotland to California ! Evidently , MacMillans get faster service than Montgomerys .
All kidding aside , it was a very nice jacket , good quality and it appeared to be never worn , although I'm sure it was being exhire , but it couldn't have been worn very much ( like new condition ) . Very pleased .

Incidentally I am already impressed because they had my size in stock which in itself is a rarity. I ordered this jacket because a bespoke jacket that I ordered from another retailer is now 3-4 weeks overdue past their estimated shipping date.
Ha! Grizzly, I think you and I probably ordered the same jacket from the same supplier. Won't name them but based in Greenock? Mine is 6 weeks late but they just called me to say it was despatched today. To be fair, they did refund me in full while I was waiting and knocked 25% off. In the interim I was about to order that Lochinver tweed jacket set when I suddenly realised it was gone. Now I know where, ha ha. Good health to wear it as my Granny used to say.

Lol sorry Fitz. I am still waiting for my jacket and waistcoat from T4L . Promised delivery dates have come and gone. In the interim the lochinver ex hire jacket and waistcoat was too good to miss. If its any consolation it is excellent and if they do another in our size I would snap it up if I were you.

I'd love a charcoal tweed but the T4L one should be with me by Tuesday. I've got the tracking number and its only coming to Glasgow from Greenock. Doubt I could justify the purchase of two tweed jacket sets in the same summer but there's always next year.
The first few months of the year are great for ex-hire bargains in the highlandwear industry. I have spent quite a bit this year but I have an impressive haul to show for it. Even kitted my stepdad out with a full outfit for his 80th. Ne'er cast a clout till May be out.....

I am sure that your jacket set will be fine. One of our members Freddie got one last year and he was well pleased with it. My concern is that I oderered it back in March and I go on holiday for two weeks next weekend. So heaven knows where it will end up if I am not here to receive it.
On another note if you eventually do get a charcoal set we had better synchronise diaries so that we don't clash if attending the same function.
