A description of my under kilt did not seem appropriate at first, particularly as I make them myself but they are fairly simple and the lace around the edges is totally optional.

However - something similar might be useful.

It is simply a strip of fabric which wraps around easily and is long enough to fold over in front. The top is either pleated in a few places or narrowed with darts so it is just a little shorter than the waistband of the kilt. The placing of the pleats would be where the body shape requires them, and both pleated or darted variants have under apron pleats to give sufficient coverage when sitting down, climbing stairs, vaulting gates and the like.

The easiest way to join them to the kilt is to sew on hooks and either metal eyes or straight bars, or make thread bars on the back of the kilt waistband above the level of the belt. The under kilt then becomes part of the kilt for the duration of its use, but is easily removed and another substituted as required.

I believe that there are two issues being discussed here, one is modesty and the other is keeping the kilt clean. The material that Anne mentioned would help keep the kilt clean but would not help with modesty.

If I understand the question correctly I would rephrase it would be (and I have a similar problem)

"When how do you keep your underware up when you don't have an "****' to help"?

If you don't wear underware or don't believe in wearing underware and can't help answer the specific question please don't be snarky or take the thread off direction.
