I started out using a big roll of 2 inch wide masking tape. Pulled out about a foot, leave it attached to the roll and lay it backwards on the roll - sticky side out. Then found the masking tape rollers for a buck a piece at the dollar stores. My concerns were fuzzing the fabric and possibly leaving adhesive traces behind. Tried the schitcky roller as it has no adhesive to transfer but it loads up about 1/4 of the way through a kilt. You have to rinse it off and then wait for it to dry to continue. Maybe a handful of the schitckys' would work?
None of these "rollers" can get at the back pleat just under the sew down at the fell.
The vacuums crevice tool works somewhat there.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.
