I've been to almost 300 weddings so when it comes to getting an uncooperative dude into clothes he doesn't want to wear, I've seen all sorts of tactics. Usually a firm yet honest and sincere explanation about why it's important, and would he please just nut up and wear the damn thing, yields the best results. If he's single then maybe all that needs to be done is getting him to understand that his odds of making a new friend will be VASTLY increased if he wears a kilt.
