Again Harold knocks it out of the park. Having had my own arms done by Harold I highly recommend his work to anyone...

    Patrick, those look fantastic.

Harold took my ideas and my chats with a skilled herald, and really gave them life.

BTW, we are sitting together at Satruday's Burns Supper. Another of the myriad instances of XMarks building community. See you then!

    Chas,

    Here's what we went with:

ARMS: Azure between two barrulets argent five furze blossoms proper and in dexter chief a canton or charged with a wyvern gules.

CREST: Upon a helmet mantled argent and gules upon a wreath of the colours argent and azure a cardinal proper.

MOTTO: On a scroll above the crest the motto: Spes audaces adjuvat.

I am particularly interested in your opinion of what I've ended up with--your comments on heraldry in the forum have been an education for me. Note that I had some great advice--Harold was invaluable, as were others who have asked to remain nameless. Any errors are all mine, though.

    Best,
    Patrick

It was well worth the journey.

Very nice arms with a lot of thought. Yes it is very difficult to design one's arms. To you and Harold excellent job.

Excellent. I think I may join that organization after the event. It seems like they have a lot of things going on throughout the year.

Some of you have asked what I use. The vector program is Inkscape and I do use some of the images in Armorial Gold for some things but a good deal is hand done in Inkscape.
