I'm fascinated watching the curling. It's been my favorite Olympic sport since I first saw it a few Olympics ago.

And to keep it kilt related (;-) Nice bronze from the GB women's curling team and skip Eve Muirhead who rumor has it was a junior competitive piper.

Eve is STILL a competitive piper by my understanding...and a rather good one at that.

But, since the point of making this kilt related is out there... I have heard that curlers have been known to wear kilts when in competition. Any truth to that?

(Honestly, I did hear that, but I just wanted to link curling to kilts)

Mrs.Crash noticed a spectator in the crowd during the men's gold medal match fussing with his kilt. Looked like he had some how hooked his sleeve button on his kilt pin. funny.

I am sorry I missed that. I have not caught as much of the Olympics as I would have liked.

Got back from Sochi yesterday. Traveled there and back by train from Helsinki. Interesting weather for a winter Olympics. Watched snowboarding in +10C soaking wet raining weather.
Pity I do not have an opportunity to see the ice hockey gold final (can - swe) today on site and pity that one of the finalists is not Finland. But Finland got the Bronze!
Even if it was an interesting experience to be there, you are better informed of the Games if you are home with TV and the Net.

    Yes, there is.

We had a Canadian team from back east that always wore kilts curling. Heck, I did it once to try it though I wouldn't recommend it for guys. The gals get to wear leggings which help when sliding.

    Classy gesture

So Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and US Secretary of State John Kerry had a little bet going over Olympic hockey that involved beer. This is what Kerry is sending. Nicely done, with a nice nod to our spelling conventions.
