That's my good mate, Donald Mackintosh (Clan Chattan member, and his parents have a house in Newtonmore, so he's always hanging about with the Macpherson lot) wearing the Mackintosh clan tartan in modern colours.

Yes, the kilt is the Macpherson clan tartan (Lochcarron Strome) in the ancient colour scheme. It was pleated to the double white line. I actually sold it off a couple of years ago.
The event was held at the Newtonmore Village Hall.

I should have recognised it immediately....but it's a completely different sett than that worn by the pipers of the Hong Kong Police!
