That's a good start. I recommend that you try, as the opportunity arises, the following:

Speyside: Aberlour 12 (quite lovely, yum)

Highland: Dalwhinnie 15 (smooth as a baby's bum, delicious) Old Pulteney 12 (my clan's unofficial single malt, what can I say)
Highland Park 12 (scrumptiously smoky gateway to the peat monsters)

Islay: Ardbeg 10 (A wonderful peat monster) Laphroaig 10 (If you liked Ardbeg 10, you should love this)

For blended whisky, I used to drink Dewar's 12 until I discovered the magical wonder of single malt.
Dewar's Highlander Honey is a nice dessert whisky. If you like the peat monsters, then try The Black Grouse. It is Famous Grouse with Islays added.

Thanks, TD, that was a typo and I corrected it now. I have had Old Pulteney 12 and 18 only. How is the Pentland Skerries?

Aye Allen, ya must! First malt tasting that I ran out and bought a 750ml bottle of the stuff we tried. Good stuff, and added to the collection.

Sorry we missed ya in NC. Whirlwind trips down to Gibsonville and back one weekend, then the next last month.
