That's 'Islay', Allen pronounced eye-lah. Have you tasted Pulteney's Pentland Skerries?

Thanks, TD, that was a typo and I corrected it now. I have had Old Pulteney 12 and 18 only. How is the Pentland Skerries?

I taste dried sweet fruit. A good post-meal whisky.

As many of you know I drink Talisker almost exclusively, when it comes to whisky, I prefer the ten year old to the eighteen. Anyway we had some very dear friends from the USA to stay and they very generously gave me a bottle of Talisker 57 North,a new one for me. WOW! Full Talisker flavours AND SOME, by some order!
Actually at full cask strength it is too much for me, but a couple of drops of water tamed it to a very pleasant dram. A winter warmer for sure!
Not one, I would suggest, for a beginner!

Talisker is already on my to-do list. I may have to move it to the top.

Well worth the top ranking, Allen.

Sunday evening I finished the Balvenie in my decanter. There was just a wee dram left, so I started in on the Glenfiddich. I have to say that I prefer the Balvenie, as this was my first side-by-side comparison.
