In the old country we have a saying about people who can't take a joke . . .

They are still in shock that the kilt is not overly popular in the motherland, and is more for the benefit of tourists or 'THCD fans'... Having the image of the kilt further destroyed by the thought of anything worn underneath will finish this place off... hence why my post got edited... I think I will lurk here now, or try the Facebook pages as things can get a little uptight *goes and hides*
I thought it was funny, but your above statement is true That's why any with contemporary ideas for how the kilt is worn don't seem to stay for long... I used to like TChalla's contribution to the forum for a modern insight into wearing the kilt... Scotland's Commonwealth Games uniform may have been a little garish but at least it brought the kilt some publicity. I think anyone, even Kanye West, can have their own interpretation of the kilt and it's down to the wearer, and folks should just chill out and wear the damn thing
I don't have a dog in the "THCD vs. Modern" fight which is bubbling up right now. I like the traditional style but I most often wear non-traditional variants, including utility style kilts or boots and tee shirts.
And I've never had any issue with your take on kilt wear and have enjoyed your posts. And I really, honestly, don't care who wears what under the kilt; that's not the point.
What I don't like, is the OP's derisiveness. I can take a joke, and I can take good natured ribbing. But I don't know the OP (or you) well enough to tell by typed words alone what his intent is.
He may have meant it with a wink and a twinkle, but it came across, to me, as peevish and mean spirited, divisive and derisive.
The proponents of TCHD on this forum may come on strong. They're not shy with their opinions. But they are most always courteous and polite and take pains to clarify they believe everyone is free to do as they wish.
I believe taking potshots at any members is unwarranted.

WoW! Touchy-touchy...
I took the O/P as satire, pure and simple. No need for anyone to get offended (or respond that way, unless there's a back-story of which I'm unaware).
If you are too busy to laugh, you are too busy.

Well, I don't really want to get more embroiled in this. I'm willing to believe the OP meant nothing by it.
But, satire is, by definition, sarcasm, mockery and criticism.
From Merriam-Webster:
sat·ire
noun \ˈsa-ˌtī(-ə)r\: a way of using humor to show that someone or something is foolish, weak, bad, etc. : humor that shows the weaknesses or bad qualities of a person, government, society, etc.
: a book, movie, etc., that uses satire
Full Definition of SATIRE
1
: a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn
2
: trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly
