Just received the multicam, it could become the new fave 5.11.
Re the length issue, on this writer, length is fine with waistband at normal kilt length, 1 inch above navel. It appears a competent tailor could probably shorten by turning the hem or re-hem this garmet; after all, it's (basically) unbifurcated ripstop cargo shorts.
'Never experienced wrinkling or binding with this garment, but am of "genreic build, so" maybe it was "bespoke by default." And dijja ever notice how severely wrinkled a lot of folks' cargo shorts are?

Likewise. But I like to wear my cargo/contemporary/casual kilts at jeans height, so I'll be shortening by 2".

It's a hassle to rip out all the stitching and shorten the hem but yeah, it's definitely doable. Thing is, by shortening the kilt at the hem you'll be dropping the fell. This might change how it fits, or you might end up with the fell scooping under your bum, which IMO looks really goofy. The cargo pockets may also end up sitting lower than you'd like too. Could be that none of these things would be an issue but they're definitely worth considering before you get out the seam ripper.

Just placed my order for my 5.11 TDK in green. Can't wait till it gets here. I already have one and love it.

Ordered one in green for me, and a multicam for my son. For camping! To be honest, at the last campout a fellow had one and from some angles it looks alot like baggy shorts, but for the price and the comments here its worth a shot.

My wife says that mine looks like a khaki skirt when I wear it...lol That I have to wear the sporran with it and even then from the back, it still looks like a skirt.
When life hands you lemons, find someone with a papercut.

Just checked the tracking number on my 5.11 TDK in green and it was delivered at 4:10 pm to my front porch. Did not get home until 5:45 pm. I enter my home from the back door so did not see the box. Can't wait to wear it.

I got ours today. We were spot on for the Multicam for my son; it looks great in fit, form and color and he is pleased.
Mine looks great too but I have one question. It is a tad loose; I would not be able to wear it without a belt. If I go down one size, it will probably be a little snug without a belt. Is it better to keep it a little loose? I would always use a belt with it anyway, and wear it at normal kilt height (not at pant waist but high). Wife says it looks good, so there's always that.

I have 5 of them and 4 of them are shortened 3 inches. I like then couple inches above knees. (im 6-4) and I wear them at the hips like normal pants.

Frustrations and pleasures
Back earlier this summer I posted about unsuccessfully trying to order a 5.11 kilt from outside the US. On 17 July I did finally get a reply (to a query sent in May), which did acknowledge that they do not accept orders from outside the US, but didn't help to solve the frustration.
Having however in the meantime successfully ordered a 5.11. kilt from a supplier within the UK, and sorted out the sizing issue, I have now been able to order a second TDK kilt from them, in a plain grey - just as comfortable, and a nice expansion to my colour range, which otherwise consists of black, brown, khaki and olive.
These kilts are comfortable to wear, especially in warmer weather, and well pocketed. I notice that when I switch from a 5.11 to most of my other kilts, I miss the hip pockets - In fact have been wondering about trying to get hip pockets retrofitted to an Elkommando hiking kilt, if I can track down suitable fabric. (I've already had proper belt loops added, since for some obscure reason Elkommando give you only one (1) beltloop, on the left hip).
