Vegas baby (part II)
Yeah, it was really inexpensive, then. (not so much now). My wife had won two free nights in a downtown hotel. But it wasn't one of the better known ones. In fact, we had never heard of it. It was nice enough, but to get to it, you had to walk down an alleyway, from Fremont St, around the corner, in the old part of town. So we hung out at the pool of a nicer hotel. Saw a couple of shows, on the strip. We've been back many times since then, but now we stay with my wife's aunt and uncle, or her cousin, and his family. Now, seeing the Vegas sights, is the least part of our trip. On one trip, her cousin's wife took us on a day hike, up a mountain trail, on nearby Mt. Charleston. It was beautiful. I had no idea that kind of a mountain was so close to Vegas. During the hike, we went above timberline, to a nice waterfall. There were patches of snow, under the trees. Anyway, I now live in SW AZ. Near Tombstone (OK Corral, Wyatt Earp), Old Tucson studios, White Sands Missile range (New Mex), many other nice things to see near here.
