    A few band names. Yes.

At the mention of celtic rock the first thing that popped into my head was, "How about celtic punk?" Then, "The Pogues, Flogging Molly, like."

My first exposure to acoustic celtic music was a Mick Maloney album I bought at a fiddle festival back in the 70's. Being a Bluegrass fan I could relate to the musicianship and I was hooked. Our local college radio station has a celtic show on the weekends and bring in top notch bands periodically.

    My Spotify playlist

If you are a member of Spotify, I have a playlist of just o er 2000 tunes. The playlist is entitled "Mike's Mega Celtic Playlist." I have all kinds, those mentioned in this thread, and a whole lot more. Too many to name. I believe you can do a free version of Spotify. You just can't listen to it, away from a wifi hotspot. I pay about $10/month. But, my whole family has used it extensively. Music for halloween, wedding receptions, my wife's "workout" music, and of course my celtic list. It's worth it, for us. I'm listening to it, right now, as I write this note.

Mike, I have tried several times and it is not coming up in the search. Do you think we would need to be facebook friends?

Hi Mike, just catching up with this thread, and would like to thank you for the excellent playlist! Since your interests cover such a large crosshatch of Celtic music, including some interesting fusion styles, I'd suggest checking out "Salsa Celtica", an Edinburgh-based band that's released about 7-8 albums and does a mesmerizing job (IMHO) blending traditional Celtic rhythms/instrumentation with different styles of Latin music (salsa, tango, mambo, etc.), including a great horn section. Their latest release, The Tall Islands, has several tracks with a gorgeous female duet in Gaelic, and one of the album's tracks was in the South American Latin Top 20 for a while, so they have real chops when it comes to their styles.

Anyway, thank you again for the playlist!

Mike, I just received a CD from a client (thanked by the artist for assistance in production). The CD is "Scotland's Fiddle Piobaireachd" Vol. 2 by Bonnie Rideout. If you don't have this in your playlist, I'd love to send you my copy to add to your list.
If interested, PM me your address and I'll mail a copy to you. It would be my pleasure to share.
