Super rad tactical kilt, FREE to good home
This is the final kilt to roll out of my sweatshop. I had some extra fabric from previous orders that I hated to see just sitting in my stash so I knocked this out. I'd planned to put it up for sale on Facebook but decided I'd rather kilt it forward instead.
The pattern is A-TACS LE, manufactured by Schott Performance Fabrics. It's poly/cotton ripstop like you'll find used in tactical clothing, with a fabric weight similar to what 5.11 uses for their TDK. Because of the dyes used to print the fabric it's quite stiff when new, but softens up with wear and laundering.
This is my tactical model, which was my most popular kilt by far. There are two big cargo pockets on each hip which can be removed. The pockets will swallow a 32oz Nalgene bottle with no problem, and each one has a smaller iPhone sized pocket inside. The waist is fastened with a 1" National Molding side release buckle and the under apron is secured by velcro. There are d-rings on the front and side belt loops and an adjustable webbing tool/key/whatever loop to the left of the front apron. Lastly, there's a hidden pocket sewn to the under apron that's a nice size for stashing a wallet and keys.
Size range in the waist is 38"ish to 43"ish. Hip is about 5" difference from the waist, an average based on looking at past orders. Length is 22".
Like the title says, I'm happy to give this kilt away to anyone who wants it. You're on the hook for $15 Priority Mail shipping, paid via Paypal, but I think that's still a steal of a deal. Post up any questions here in this thread or hit me with a PM if you want it.

Reason: added extra sizing info

If it were a little bit bigger and longer I'd be all over it. I had a Gryphon kilt and loved it. It's 5X the kilt that an X-Kilt is. I'd still have it if I hadn't lost about 20 pounds and shrunk out of it. I turned it forward as well, and sold it to a new kiltie for a rip-snorting fifteen bucks.
Bob makes quality kit. Good stuff. Like *Seriously* good stuff. If this fits you and you'll wear a contemporary kilt, pounce on this.

Are you still making these?
What would one cost?

Nope, afraid not. I'm only stuff for myself now so that I can enjoy my free time rather than spending all of it chained to my sewing machines.

Ah. More's the pity. I liked the kilt. Particularly like the use of the nylon buckles.

This is amazing, would be great to wear to the rugby - the amount of times I have ripped my kilt on those seats in Murrayfield is ridiculous and its 40 pounds for an invisible repair! Would you wear a sporran with this?

You certainly could, though I think a proper sporran looks a bit strange with this style of kilt. An admin or similar MOLLE type pouch on a webbing strap would be my choice.

Hi Bob since you are no longer taking orders for these any chance you could release the patern you used ? I dont mind sending reasonable compensation for a copy of the patern you have

It's a kilt so there is no pattern, just lots of experience and a healthy dose of being awesome. I'd suggest the x-kilt manual as a starting point if you want to make one yourself.
