I think the laces make it look like some sort of odd corset contraption.

The sewing nerd in me would really like to see one of these in person. I'm curious about the rear box pleat, and the rear apron that I've seen Utilikilts mention. I've tried to find a compelling reason to buy one but can't quite pull the trigger, since I can make myself a new kilt any time I feel like it. Still, the sweet siren song of the Utilikilt calls to me.

This is what I like about it the most. I didn't at first, but then something clicked in my brain and now I love it. Totally dead sexy looking.
