    Yes, I think we Scots are living to regret all these stories we invented
    The poor lad quite possibly is a non-Scot because he will be in the Army Corps of Music and just be sent wherever needed.

    Yep SNCOs and mirrors have long gone, in fact if a SNCO tried it he would probably be prosecuted.
    Also These days the Armed forces are more concerned with possible occurrence of exposure if children or Royalty are around than traditions.
