One further thought ...really a question. Why the jump boots? Is this because it will be an outdoor wedding in rough terrain? Otherwise the combination of evening wear with boots sounds a bit incongruous.
Serendipitously, I was asked to conduct an outdoor wedding just last week, by a loch side in Argyle in the spring. I expect this will be kilts and tweeds.

I was thinking the very same thing, if it were me especially with the PC I would go with brogues, highly polished of course.

If it's simply a matter of preferring boots to regular shoes, you could do what I did and go with brogue boots. I have a pair of Florsheim capital wingtip boots (the only ones I could find in the wingtip style that came in wide), but there are plenty of other options if you like the cap toe and/or don't have mutant feet like me...

Thanks for the tip!
I do have some funky feet, in that they're two different shapes and sizes. Those Florsheims look the business, but I'm not persuaded they'll meet the occasion better than my old Corcorans -- presuming I can find the dang things.
Cheers,
Jack

Jack,
I realize that the timing might be tight but, once you have your new kilt in hand and full kit assembled, why don't you suit up (kind of a test run) and have your wife take a couple of shots and then post them here. That way, we will have a visual to evaluate and base last minute suggestions or recommendations on.
You description of your intended outfit seems sound but, keep in mind that wearing the PC means you will be pretty 'dressed up' so, I have to agree with the consensus of most here that boots would certainly distract from that.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
