On the subject of more humane ways of sporran production but is it possible to produce a real fur sporran from grooming clippings?

So for example I have a westie who I threaten with thehaggis and sporran factory when he's naughty...

Then I thought whether next time he got groomed if the fur had been prewashed and brushed prior to clipping could the clippings be used on a leather sporran or would it just look rubbish?

I would guess that most of not all fur sporrans use pelts (hide with hair/fur still attached). I don’t know if there’s a feasible way to attach loose hair to leather.

On the other hand there are film costumes made to look like natural fur/hair so it might be possible. Think of the Sasquatch costume from Harry and the hendersons.

I think you’d be more likely to need a pelt than clippings, which might be a little hard on your dog!

Lol not doing that no matter how naughty he is.
I guess one way to produce the effect of hide would be stitching the clipping through the leather and glueing on the inside. But I guess that would take ages!

How do synthetic makers do it?
