    Thanks Tomo. Pleated to the stripe is quite nice indeed. And as a bonus, this picture also shows a kilt in the green MacFarlane tartan. Great choice of whisky too!

    Peter: naturally, you are correct; my mistake ( memory not what it used to be). Either MacNaughton, Muted, or MacNaughton Reproduction colours ( depending upon the source;0)

    Someone may have already suggested this, but many companies will send you samples/swatches of their tartan fabric. Sometimes for free, sometimes for a small fee. It is a simple way to see what the fabric will actually look like.
