The wedding will be really casual (this is California, after all), but we'll have a nice dinner + dancing outdoors beside an alpine lake on Saturday (afternoon stretching into evening) and I'd like to wear a kilt.
I'm learning towards the outfit on the right, with the:
Green overcheck tweed
Fraser Red Ancient Kilt
Chocolate-Bronze cantled Musquatch sporran
Red necktie
Likely some love green hose with red flashes or garters

I like it, but you might consider a striped tie instead of a solid red tie. Maybe something along these lines (from a VERY quick online search...). Has that "regimental" look without treading on anyone's toes.
My favourite combination is the Lovat tweed jacket with the brown fur sporran.
That sporran is a beauty!
For me that outfit has the look of traditional Day Dress but with just the right amount of Edwardian pizazz.
What about combining the charcoal tweed jacket, the kilt you show with it, and the brown fur deer-motif sporran?
I'd like to see how that looks.
I know it's a different kilt and a different sporran, but here's charcoal tweed with a silver-topped brown sporran and muted red kilt. It's pretty much my favourite outfit.
I know it's not an Evening or fur sporran, but this shows brown worn with charcoal grey tweed. (I'm not a fan of black leather sporrans in general.)
