I'll give you my take on your question. When my daughter got married on Maui, I wore kilt, argyll jacket, tie, etc., because that's what I would have worn to her wedding if it had been held in Canada, and it's what I generally wear to weddings. Was I warm? Yes, but I'm used to wearing the kilt in most weathers. Also, the groom was wearing a suit and tie, and I wanted to be consistent with his level of formality.
I agree with Father Bill too; if your bride is happy with you going kilted, then that's what matters most.
