    It needs some TLC.

I googled restoring leather purses and found this from The Guardian:

Margaret Morrison "semi dress" sporran $10 current bid.

It's not stamped, but the rear tab is the unmistakable MM shape.

WE Scott "hunting" sporran. Not in our usual price range but a very nice example.

It has the 1953 Patent scribe-line and rectangular rear tab that went with it.

Comes with a lovely solid brass long-link chain.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/38978661772...Bk9SR8iGmqmjZw

Were I to purchase that sporran I'd tell them to keep the fur thing. I wouldn't want to give Customs any excuse for seizing the package.

Here's a collage showing WE Scott's evolution from this 1950s example, through a 1970s one, to the version they make today.

I wasn't too sure where to post this so I thought I'd use this thread. I'd like to get OCR's (or anyone's) opinion on this sporran:

    Thanks.

    TD is Thomas Dunlop.

You see more of their military contract sporrans than their civilian ones.

That cantle is interesting, it was made in at least four permutations

Only the shamrock cantle has remained in constant production, being the only shamrock cantle readily available. They were produced in large numbers for "Irish" themed pipe bands.

For years now that shamrock cantle has been mass-produced in Pakistan.

The thistle and Celtic knotwork ones are rarely seen.

Thanks for the quick and informative reply. It was the cantle and matching tassel cones that caught my eye. I'm considering pulling the trigger.

    It's a pretty rare thing.

Were I to hit the BIN button I'd use the cantle and cones for something else, not sure what, perhaps a sealskin Evening sporran.

In any case a newer WE Scott bovine "semi dress" £40

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/32706558971...Bk9SR7SCi62kZw

And a retailer I'll have to look up, Get Shirty. Not sure who made the sporran. £35

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/32706559269...Bk9SR7SCi62kZw

As for "get shirty" this video explains all https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxWeWbrzqA8
