Remember, the software is windows based - ie; drag and drop. If it gives you trouble, drag ithe computer over to the edge of the desk and drop it to the floor!! My $ is on Mike.

LOL, I just saw this. I've been working in the Admin Control Panel and decided to take a break to see what you misfits have been up to.
All of the problem was with the files for the CMPS, or portal page. Those of you that have the forum home page bookmarked should have been experiencing only minor difficulties, as I was frantically moving files and changing file names, trying to make the portal light up.
Just to show you how completely stupid I was, I spent over 5 hours FTP'ing files to the Web site, changing permissions on those files, running installers over those files, removing those files to try again and again and again...
When it finally became obvious that nothing was working, I decided to start examining every file until I found what was wrong. I had narrowed my issues down to just 22 .php files, so I started looking.
For those that are not familiar with the process of upgrading files on the Web, you just upload a new file, right over the top of an old file, a process that is simply called over-writing.
Somehow (and I still cannot understand why), 10 of those 22 files failed to over-write the old files. Multiple times, no less. And the CMPS software has gone through enough upgrading that it simply could not read the old file versions. It would tell me a file wasn't there, so I would look and clearly see it.
After all that time, I suddenly noticed that although the 10 files were in place, the date stamp on them was for May 2005. So, I deleted all ten files and then FTP'ed the new ones into place and it was amazing to see how well everything worked. It was a simple matter of taking the numpty out of the equation.
And now, you know the rest of the story.

El nuevo upgraded forum es groovy
Well done Mikey. I understand the pain. These kinds of upgrades are what I do for a living. That's where all my hair went. If it were up to me, you guys would get gold kilt pins.

Don't you love web based apps Mike? So many moving parts and the actualy "admin" for the site in question (that would be you), really has no real authority over the things that matter. Glad you got it worked out. Looks great.

I've heard Mike1 is seven feet tall, and kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the software with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his ****....
