Well I wear kilts or trousers in about equal amounts so those who see me regularly are never surprised to see me clad in the one style or the other. Last year I wore trousers to a law conference and one of the ladies there asked me why I wasn't wearing a kilt, and it was only then I realised that I had got into a pattern of always wearing kilts to these conferences such that conference regulars who never saw me any other time would have assumed I was full-time kilted.
