I don't mind sharing. This is gonna sound a little screwy.
I don't know who your carrier is. Mine is Sprint. But, I'm sure it will work similar if you're using a major carrier.
Ok, so in order to get it at $150 you have to be a new customer. As an existing customer, the best you can hope for is $300 (after a $150 upgrade credit... AFTER you've been on your current contract for two years. There's a loophole. If you ADD a line to your existing account, you get whatever phone/smartphone/pocket pc whatever you want... for the NEW customer cost. IE. Crackberry (I was already familiar with this term Raphael...:lol ) for $150. Ok, so what am I going to do with the extra line? Nothing. It's on a family shared plan. Shares the minutes, doesn't cost extra etc. So, I basically have 3 lines and will use two. Seeing as the third line will have a busted @$$ Samsung on it... it will get no air time. It seems silly to me that they would rather me tie up a phone number, that I won't use, rather than just giving me the fat discount for renewing my contract. Oh well huh?

Sometimes it takes a while.
I busted my mobile phone myself a few months ago. Ah well, time to upgrade, I guess. I was pleased to discover that because I'd been with Optus for so long (10 years!), the termination fee for the old phone contract was waived, saving me some $200. And with no startup cost for the new one, the only price was another 2-year contract.
Wade.
