If I want to listen to music, I'll sit at home in front of my stereo system, or listen to the stereo in my vehicle.

If I want to take pictures, I'll grab my camera.

If I want to email someone, I'll sit at the computer. The internet is addictive enough when I'm at home...I don't want to have access to it everywhere I go.

I am not big on camera on the phone. I can easily live without it. But I can't live without email/yahoo messenger on the go.

Well now you know you are not the only one!

I wonder if there is a technical name like there is for stamp and coin collectors?

    If not I suggest Frigomagnetrist!

I just found some nice kilt ones on Ebay and am fighting temptation!

I just glad i'm not the only one who seems to be obsessive/complusive when it comes to collecting things!!

Besides kilts, my other addictions are Games Workshop miniatures, cd's, and books and magazines. Sometimes I get really bent out of shape if I miss an issue of certain ones. My partner hates it!

You're not alone. It's the only critical purchase while on vacation. The refrigerator door sags from the weight of them all including a full map of the Caribbean. ("Hey! Who moved Aruba? It belongs over here. )

Fortunately for my pocketbook, my other obsession is slide rules and, unlike electronic gadgets, they don't come out with new models of those any more.

I'm with Al on the cell phone thing. Even though I repair computers I haven't embraced the cell phone technology and it's just used for traveling and emergencies. My wife collects carousel horses but I don't collect anything per se. My other addiction is horse racing. I live near the greatest track in the country, Saratoga, and when I go anywhere the first thing I look for is the local track. I was hooked when I saw Secretariat at the age of 10 and have never given it up. I have boxes of pictures and old programs. It's really not a gambling thing, I just love it all.

A good choice, Alex, and well-timed too with 25% off. I am inclined to follow suit.

I don't think I have any addictions other than "kilts and accessories" - mind you, I could not afford to have any others! I have weaknesses for things in that I collect particular items (such as Royal Commemorative chinaware bearing Royal Coats of Arms but NOT photos or portraits). At my age I should be getting rid of things, not collecting - but what the heck!

Me too, Al. I am computer illiterate and frequently have to seek help with my PC.

My cell phone is just that, a cell phone. Apparently it can do text messaging and such, but I have no idea how, nor the desire to learn. The only reason I have it is for emergencies. In fact, it's rarely turned on.
You are a man after my own heart! I resisted for years but was finally persuaded that these things are a good idea when one is out in the car alone, and so I bought one last year. I still do not know how to use it properly - even to make calls - it is permanently switched off and I never think to take it with me when I leave the house! As for the camera and texting thingies, forget 'em!

If I want to listen to music, I'll sit at home in front of my stereo system, or listen to the stereo in my vehicle.
Yes, me too. Several friends have tried to explain I-Pods, etc. to me, but I still do not understand why anyone would want to play music or speech when out in the beautiful countryside with nature's gorgeous soundtrack, or when walking along crowded streets. I do have a Walkman (radio and cassette player) but use it about once every three years when I'm in bed with 'flu !!

If I want to take pictures, I'll grab my camera.
    That's what I do too.

If I want to email someone, I'll sit at the computer. The internet is addictive enough when I'm at home...I don't want to have access to it everywhere I go.
I am so with you on this, Al. (I really should not be sitting here now when I am surrounded by chores crying out for attention!)

It is SO comforting to know that I am no longer alone in this world!

My kilt addiction is a bit different in that instead of collecting them, I take pictures of them, usually in "action". (Yeah it's sick, I know) But i see a kilt that is somewht differnt i take a picture of it.

    My other addictions are:
Hard Rock Cafe teddy bears - I have 50 from all over the world - I even have two from the one in Edinbrough,
Taort decks - I currently have over a hundred - it's the artwork that i find so fascinating. I would love to get one with a Scottish theme.
