Actually, I think you are likely to see such in Bermuda, no kidding.

As to Lands End, there are quite a few good ole boys who buy from them, and they don't have that funny Down East accent nor pahl thay-uh cahrs in thuh yahd.

Where else can you find 17 1/2 X 37 shirts off the rack?

Considering that Lands End has partnerned with Sears, I question the charges of snobbery being thrown around here.

thescot is quite correct; TRUE Bermuda Shorts are very appropriate with a jacket for business attire:

I guess I would be one of those "idiots", then, because I still long for a pair of authentic Bermudas to wear with my blue blazer.

Read the article for the "link" between Bermudas and Highland attire.

Land's End is the answer to several clothing problems.

They consistantly make nice, basic, well constructed stuff. The point about shirts is well taken...a nice blue dress shirt is a nice blue dress shirt in New York City, Chicago, Portland, San Antonio or Atlanta (or any smaller towns or cities in-between). I never thought of Land's End as "snooty" or even "upscale"...probably because they've always had an outlet store up on the North Side of Chicago and have been constantly trying to dump their excess merchandise at a discount. The jackets and parkas are fantastic and priced very competitively...and if you shop for them off-season, they're a downright steal. The Sears thing is nice...you can drag the kids to Sears, get them a good winter parka and not break the bank. If anything Land's End has helped improve Sears image.

Are you longing for the more traditional colors - gray, beige, etc. - or something that falls into the "Things I'd Pay To See" thread? such as:

BTW, the article says the Bermudians appear to have borrowed their Bermuda knee socks from the Scots.
