AVOID THE NAUGAHYDE!
Have you ever seen a wounded mother Nauga trying to protect her young from a hunter? It's so sad to watch...

My first kilt was the Nicolson Ancient hunting tartan. Im not sure if its available cheaply, but it looks really neat.

You absolutely NEED a Fraser Red mini-kilt! Nothing more beautiful than Fraser Red!

Finding a tartan should be easy. http://www.tartans.scotland.net/find_tartan.cfm.htm
...but, finding a weaver who will make up the cloth, could be difficult.

hrmmm.....I have to echo what the boys have been saying, the purple warrior tartan would look good on you.
Instead of going with another SportKilt, why not try another vendor as well. That way you can give some of the other females on the board a proper review of the mini kilts available out there.
I'd check out USA Kilts, I'm sure they can make mini's and you'd get a very different kilt than a SportKilt.
