I also ordered some extra matching cloth for a kilt in the same pattern, and just completed it yesterday. This is what I wore in to work at the Scottish Tartans Museum today:

The tweed was woven by Catherine Campbell of the Isle of Harris. I have made several kilts from Harris Tweed in my day, but I have to say that Catherine's cloth is by far the softest feeling tweed I have worked with. The kilt is a pleasure to wear, and I anticipate wearing the kilt (without the jacket) even in the summer time.

I've paired it here with navy blue Lewis kilt hose and loden green garters. And (though you can't see them in the pic) the straps and buckles on this kilt are brown leather and brass by our very own Steve Fraser. Thanks, Steve!
    Aye,

Well done, Matt. You almost have a "London Scottish" look going with the tweed* and blue accessories.

    Cheers,

    Todd

    * for the record, the London Scottish, and their affiliated regiment, the Toronto Scottish, wear Hodden Grey, not tweed.

    Hey Matt,

I was toying with the idea of doing something like that (just for myself... not "general consumption") a few months ago when I started with the solids, but I got sidetracked. I think I may have to re-visit the issue... that looks GREAT!

Wow! That looks very much like a 21st Century outfit, only with your signature box pleats. Well done!
