I was checking the LV Games website and there are events scheduled at 8pm for both Friday at Saturday nights. Friday is just a party at Henessey's, but Saturday is listed as: Ceilidh at Hennessey’s Pub – LA Scots –Celtic Rock Band TBA
Better late than never, IES! See you there!

Just wanted to take a moment and give credit where it is due. Patti and I mailed a check and registration form back on March 3rd to the folks at the Las Vegas Celtic Society for the VIP package at this week's games. When last weekend rolled around and we realized we still had not received our materials, we sent an inquiring e-mail.
Last night, a nice lady named Betty Parker called and told us they never received the check. "Not to worry." She would personally drop off everything we needed to our hotel so it would be waiting for us upon arrival on Friday. She would also notify the staff at the VIP tent that we are registered and we could pay when we get to the games.
So thanks to the wonderful help of Ms. Parker and the LV Celtic Society. We're looking forward to our first LV Highland Games!

Wow, that's very impressive service! Karen and I didn't bother to order tickets for anything, we'll just pay at the gate.
One more sleep! We can't wait to get going tomorrow, although the weather system that's blowing through the area today and tonight may slow us down a bit. They're calling for up to 25cms of snow by tomorrow morning. Yay.

Drive safe, Al. You've about 1300+ miles (2092+ kms to our Northern Brothers). See you Friday night! As well as any others of our RABBLE who happen to make the scene.

Marilyn and I are driving on friday morning from Coalville about 60 miles East of SLC. We will leave about 8:30 or 9:00 but are going thru the Provo Canyon and then down I-15 We will be right behind you. See you there Friday night at the Rio.

Al,
You're probably way ahead of me, but just in case...the best way to drive a long way fast with two people is to alternate time at the wheel every hour. Tempting to go longer, but if you can discipline yourselves to trade out driving every hour you'll arrive a lot more rested and be safer en route.
Really grumbling about not being able to make it over myself as originally planned.

If we stay at a place with a wireless 'net connection, I'll put up a post tomorrow night letting you know where we finally stopped. Perhaps we can run down to Vegas together if things work out right.

That probably would work best, but unfortunately Karen doesn't like to drive on the highway, especially someplace she's never been to before. On the plus side, I've been known to run 1000+ mile trips in one shot all by myself with no ill effects. I've had many years of practice.
It really is too bad that you can't make it. Perhaps next time.
Our proposed side trip next week to your part of the world is still up in the air. Our union is meeting with the city tomorrow to look at the latest proposal, but no-one is holding out any hope. As such, there's a very good chance that we'll be going on strike in May. If that is the case we won't be doing much in the way of side trips this time around. I dont' want to run up the credit cards if I don't have an income for awhile.

Wow, a new record for me! 900+ miles in 13 hours.
We made it to Ogden Utah, where we finally decided to stop for the night. Just going to head over for some food, then off to bed. For some reason I'm really tired right now.
Be back online tomorrow once we reach LV.
