It arrived a few days ago and is just as striking up close as it is in pictures. It's mixture of white and dark brown wools, possibly undyed? I know the original hodden was undyed homespun, but not sure about the MOD version.

Does anyone know if any modern tartan mills could obtain the yarns needed to produce this tartan? I've seen many postings on various boards about people enquiring about hodden grey. I wonder is there is sufficient demand for it to be woven for the civillian market?

Bob Martin, the author of "All About Your Kilt", owns a kilt in Hodden Grey; I've seen a picture of him and Matt (I believe on Matt's blog) when he was wearing it. And I bet Matt could pull some strings and make some calls and get the material woven...Oh, Matt...

I just received my Toronto Scottish pattern glengarry, btw, with the blue and hodden dicing...very nice!

I have a swatch of HG myself for my London Scottish badge; I need to get another one for my Tor Scots one.

Aw'ra best,
